Intellectual renaissance
The role of the Syriacs was not limited to contributing to the intellectual and scientific renaissance throughout history, and they are known for their contribution in building the Umayyad state, and to the scientific renaissance in the Abbasid era, as they contributed with their skills and knowledge in translating Greek knowledge into Syriac and Arabic by establishing a cultural edifice that they called “House of Wisdom”.
