Poet, writer and linguist, was born in Bidar, a village north western of Zakho. in 1900 joined the Institute of St. John in Mosul. He was ordained a priest in 1912; in the beginning of 1930’s he immigrated to Syria and lived in Qamishli, Aleppo and Damascus. He came back to Iraq in 1958 and settled firstly in Baghdad, then joined the Kurdish revolution in 1963 and became a member of its executive office. After 1970 he returned to Zakho, where he lived until his death. He perfected Syriac, Arabic, French, Latin, English and Kurdish. of his works (In Syriac) : The brief grammar , Mosul 1923 /0 beloved n ‘Lien, a poem of India 1957 / a poem about the martyr St. Bihnam and his sist:r Sarah, Baghdad, 1967 and selected articles, Baghdad 1976, the last two books were printed after his death.
