Yosip Qelaita’s “Joseph DeKelaita”

Researcher, editor and literary historian, was born in Mar Bishu, a village on the Iranian and Turkish borders. He studied at the Protestant school in Urmia (Iran) then became a teacher there. In 1902 he traveled to India and came back to Mosul, bringing Syriac printing fonts, and then he established printing shop and school, he printed many important books. He wrote a series of books (in Surath) for the students included information about the Syriac writers and selections from their works. of his works: The history of Eastern Church /The book of selections from the books of skilled authors and the Assyrian history in the days of Sasan’s rule. His most important publications: The table about the Syriac writers by(Abd Aishoa Alsobawi), Mosul 1924 / paradise of Aden, also by (Abd Aishoa Alsobawi) Mosul 1928 , and the book of .translations, Mosul 1935
