Writer, poet and linguist, was born in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He was born in Amid (present day Diyarbakir) in Turkey and began his education there at the age of seven. After primary school, he attended the local high school that had been established by local “Brotherhood of Ancient Syrians”, then started teaching in Diyarbakir, Urfa, Adiyaman and Homs. In 1910, began publishing a newspaper entitled Kawkab Madnho (“Star of the East”). in 1912, he fled to United States, where he went on to establish various different newspapers including Beth-Nahrin in 1916 and became the editor- in- chief of Huyodo magazine. He perfected Syriac, Arabic, Turkish, Persian, English and some of French. Most of his books did not publish in his life. Of his important works :Five books about Syriac expressions in each of Arabic, Turkish, Persian, Armenian, Kurdish and English / Arabic-Syriac dictionary /the dictionary of Prominent Figure (in Syriac) / the dictionary of Greek words which used in Syriac / the fragrant flowers in the garden of Aramaic Proverbs (in Syriac and Arabic). He translated Al-Khayam’s quatrains into Syriac, also he wrote a collection of national anthems (in Syriac).
