Wadee Kajo

1935 – 2002

He was born in Alqush. After graduating from the University of Mosul, he joined the Dramatic Vigilance Society in Mosul in 1945. He prepared and directed several plays in the places where he worked as a teacher and a headmaster, including ‘Hukim Qaraqosh’ (Reign of Qaraqosh) in Mosul in 1958, ‘Odisho Dadesho’ in Alqush in 1959, ‘Alhallaq Walbaqara’ (the barber and the cow) in Hauresk-Zakho in 1960. He also presented several plays in Babylon Club in Baghdad in the early seventies, including ‘Hallaq Altarif (the barber of Tarif), ‘Altabib Alqassab’ (the butcher doctor), ‘Qahwat Jawani (the coffee of Jawani), and ‘Peskhotha’ (happiness) in 1995.
