Distilling device

  Distilling device components:

• Jar: A metallic container that has a lid with a slot, which is attached to a tube and secured by clay.

• Tube (Kane): A straw pipe connected to the jar on one side and to the container on the other side. It helps to carry out water vapor from the jar to the container.

• Container (Kemka): A metallic container where it was filled with cold water.

•Barrel: A filter placed inside the container where distilled liquid is collected. It contained cold water to facilitate the process of thickening water.

Distilling Process: After setting fire under the pot (which was well-sealed with clay) and filled with grapes or dates, the vapor would mount and go through the pipe to reach the reservoir. There, it encountered a cold climate, which caused condensation of drops. The liquid collected in the reservoir was placed inside a big tank filled with cold water to facilitate the condensing process.
